USHL ALL ACCESS TO PREMIERE ON NHL NETWORK

Cameras go behind the scenes at 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Chicago, IL – The United States Hockey League has partnered with the NHL Network for the exclusive premiere of USHL All Access on Wednesday, March 4th at 7:00 PM (CT).  The 30-minute show marks the first time the USHL has produced a program for a nationally televised broadcast.

“The number of players selected in the NHL Draft validates our league as one of the premier developmental leagues in the world,” said USHL President and Commissioner Bob Fallen.  “We are thrilled to work with the NHL Network to promote the USHL and the opportunity to showcase our brand of hockey to a national audience.”

USHL All Access takes a behind the scenes look at the 2015 USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game that hosted last month by the Dubuque Fighting Saints.  The event featured 40 of the USHL’s top players eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft as they competed in front of scouts from all 30 NHL clubs.  For two days, cameras captured the sights and sounds as the players ascended on Dubuque, Iowa to compete in the event.  The show provides a glimpse of the path being taken by these elite hockey players as they showcase their skills and take the next steps in their development to hopefully one day fulfill the dream of playing in the NHL.

Among the focus of USHL All Access are forwards Kyle Connor of the Youngstown Phantoms and Waterloo Black Hawks teammates Brock Boeser and Tom Novak, all of whom have been tabbed by NHL Central Scouting as potential first-round picks in the NHL Draft.  The show also captures the thrilling story of Kevin Conley, the Youngstown Phantoms forward who went from a last-minute replacement in the event to becoming one of the game MVP’s.

“The USHL is one of the primary talent pipelines to college and professional hockey and we hope to see some of the players featured in the show in an NHL uniform someday,” said Eric Eisenberg, NHL Director of Programming & Operations.  “We welcome any opportunity to air content that appeals to NHL fans.”

The show was filmed and produced by Rival Films (www.rivalfilms.com) which has created numerous feature films and projects for national and regional clients, including the NHL, NCAA, USA Hockey, and Reebok-CCM Hockey.

Following the premiere of USHL All Access on March 4th, NHL Network will re-air the show on Sunday, March 8th at 1:30 PM (CT).

Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, the USHL celebrates its 13th season as the nation’s only Tier I junior hockey league in 2014-15.  A record 35 players were chosen in the 2014 NHL Draft and more than 300 players on team rosters last season committed to NCAA Division I schools, further establishing the USHL as the world’s foremost producer of junior hockey talent.
