Abitibi Eskimos Tryout Dates

The NOJHL Abitibi Eskimos are gearing up for the 2014-2015 season.  One of 128 CJHL teams Canada-wide who compete for the Royal Bank Cup (Hockey Canada National Title). The NOJHL is one of ten CJHL member leagues.  The CJHL is Junior A, or for those United States born players, equal to Tier II.

A preliminary camp is being held in Timmins Ontario:

August 5 – 6 – 7 – 8 inclusive (Tuesday to Friday)*
Whitney Arena – Timmins Ontario

7:45 PM to 9:30 PM

Players are responsible for own transportation, accommodations etc. for duration of TRYOUTS and are to provide own equipment (helmet, gloves etc.).

Non-refundable registration (administration) fee – $100.00* – payable in advance. Prospective players are encouraged to file a request to attend and ALL associated paperwork well in advance. Do not assume that you will be accepted as a walk-up. This is not an open skate.

The Abitibi Eskimos are a first-class professional Hockey Canada Junior A hockey program with absolutely NO PLAYER FEES. We look after our players and we put it in writing (Player-Team Agreement).
Team subsidized (up to 100%) room and board in good homes. Post secondary students reside in Timmins.
All other players stay in Iroquois Falls. Timmins players commute to practice/games via team owned 11-passenger van with staff driver.
Team provides all visible exterior equipment, tape, skate sharpening/repair etc. Players are responsible for own skates and sticks.
Dedicated dressing room with skilled support staff.
Team pays all costs when on the road including quality pre and post game meals and accommodations. Travel is by 55-passenger coach – Tisdale Bus Lines.
Team practices three times per week – 90 minutes sessions Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Players residing in Iroquois Falls enjoy team-paid access to well-equpped fitness centre.
