Big night for some road teams in NAHL

Coulee Region 7 @ Austin 1 – The Chill shocked the 1st place Bruins in Austin on Friday night by a 7-1 score. The seven goals was the most scored by Coulee Region this season. Despite the wide margin of victory, the star of the game was Chill goaltender Blake Cates who made 46 saves. Mac Jansen had two goals and Aleski Mustaniemi, Kevin Becker, Jesse Tredinnick, Andy Faust and Matt Williams scored for the Chill. Boxscore
 
Wichita Falls 3 @ Topeka 6 – Peter Halash and James Ring each scored twice as the RoadRunners doubled up the Wildcats on Friday night, 6-3. Topeka jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the 1st period with two goals from Halash and one from Ring. Tyler Poulsen made it 4-1 win the 2nd period and Ring and Tyler Andrew scored in the 3rd period. Eliot Grauer scored twice for Wichita Falls and Nick Farmer also had a goal. Boxscore
 
Corpus Christi 2 @ Amarillo 5 – A three-goal 3rd period by the Bulls was the difference as Amarillo topped Corpus Christi 5-2 on Friday night. The teams were deadlocked after the 1st period as Rudy Sulmonte and Brandon Smith scored for the IceRays, while Matt Sieckhaus and TJ Sarcona lit the lamp for the Bulls. In the 3rd period, Amarillo put the game out of reach with three goals from Gage Christianson, Clint Carlisle and another from Sarcona. Boxscore
 
Michigan 3 @ Johnstown 1 – Despite being outshot 48-26, the Warriors got 47 saves from Trevor Gorsuch in a 3-1 win on Friday night in Johnstown. Jordan Watt got the Tomahawks on the board midway through the 1st period, but that would be all the Tomahawks would get. Connor Lyons tied the game late in the 1st period. AJ Marcinek scored late in the 3rd period for the eventual game winner and Lyons added his second goal with an empty-netter. Boxscore
 
Brookings 1 @ Bismarck 2 – Aaron Nelson made 40 saves and the Bobcats scored two 1st period goals and held on to defeat Brookings 2-1 on Friday night. Nate Repensky opened the scoring in the 1st period with a power play goal and :41 seconds later Ryan Callahan made it 2-0 for Bismarck. Eric Brenk scored in the 2nd period on the power play to draw the Blizzard to within 2-1, but Nelson did the rest to help the Bobcats pick up the win. Boxscore
 
Odessa 2 @ Texas 10 – Defenseman Nick Neville had a four point night as the Tornado scored five, 2nd period goals to break open the game and defeat Odessa, 10-2. Texas led 2-1 in the 1st period on goals from Justin Greenberg and Jason Eddy. In the 2nd period, Greenberg added a second goal along with goals from Brandon Hawkins, CJ Reuschlein, Neville and AJ Duggan. JT Paine, Scott Conway and Jackson Leef added 3rd period goals. Aberdeen 3 @ Minot 4 – The Minotauros jumped out to a 4-0 lead halfway through the game and then used 42 saves from Tyler Parks to hang on to defeat the Wings, 4-3. Zack Holstrom opened the scoring in the 1st period for the Minotauros and Mason Morelli scored to make it 2-0. It would be Holstrom and Morelli scoring again in the 2nd period to make it 4-0. Goals from Peter Krieger, Erik Baskin and Emil Blomqvist drew the Wings to within one, but they could not get the equalizer. Boxscore
 
Fresno 3 @ Wenatchee 1 – Fresno goalie Tomas Sholl stole the show and got back to his form from last year as he made 41 saves in the Monsters 3-1 win in Wenatchee on Friday. Mitchell Snyder started the scoring for Fresno in the 1st period. Wenatchee tied the game at 1-1 early in the 3rd period on a goal from Jono Davis, but Fresno responded right back with a shorthanded goal from Justin Plate and another from Jacob McDowell. Boxscore
 
Springfield 6 @ Fairbanks 3 – The Jr. Blues stayed perfect on their Alaska roadtrip with a 6-3 win over Fairbanks on Friday. The Jr. Blues scored three goals in the final eight minutes of the game to pull away. Mitch Rogge had a goal and two assists and Jeff McFarland, Ryan Atkinson, Jon Carkeek, Terry Leabo and Jack Sloan also scored for Springfield. Garret Clemment, Mike Parnell and Devin Loe scored for Fairbanks. Boxscores
 
Janesville 3 @ Kenai River 2 – Two, 3rd period goals propelled the Jets to a 3-2 road win in Kenai River on Friday night. Janesville opened the scoring late in the 1st period on a power play goal from David Becker. Zac Lazzaro would then tie the game for the Brown Bears with a goal late in the 1st period. Conor Deal gave Kenai River a 2-1 lead in the 2nd period, but another goal from Becker and a late marker from Ryan Dau were the difference for the Jets late in the game. Boxscore
