Blind River Beavers Committed To NOJHL And Blind River Community Moving Forward

What can we say about rumors?  They are out there every year, and in every league.  When ever we can dispel a rumor, or confirm one, TJHN likes to go right to the decision makers.

I recently had a conversation with Blind River Beavers President Bob Haworth about the future of the NOJHL Blind River franchise and the teams struggles this season.

“First of all I want to be absolutely clear that the Blind River Beavers are committed to the NOJHL for this season and the seasons to come.  Our organization has zero interest in playing in any other league.”  Said Haworth  “I don’t know where these rumors get started but they certainly have no basis in fact when it concerns our organization.  This community has supported this team through thick and thin, and we will do the same.”

When asked about the teams struggles in the win loss column Bob was just as open;

“Yes, we have struggled this year.  The cause of those struggles has been addressed and we are doing our best to turn things around.  We have new players, and new people involved, and we see things taking a turn in the right direction now.”

“We have some player cards left, and we are looking to add some talent before the deadline.  We think we are close to turning the corner, and I think our players and fans believe it too.  Blind River deserves to have a winning team, we are committed to bringing them one, and we wont stop working until we have reached that goal.”

If there is one thing I took away from my conversation with Mr. Howarth is that he is determined to build a first class program in Blind River.  He lives there, and believes the team is an investment in the community and can serve as ambassadors for the community throughout all of Northern Ontario.

One thing is for certain, the Beavers and the NOJHL wont be leaving Blind River.
