Brandon Shea Leaving QMJHL for USHL? May 29, 2012 7:28 AM

Rumors have been heating up that former Boston College recruit, and current member of the Moncton Wildcats will be leaving the QMJHL for the USHL.

Shea’s destination? If TJHN sources are correct it may be the Dubuque Fighting Saints.

Shea had a highly disappointing QMJHL rookie season notching 10 points in 45 games with a minus 18 rating. The 1995 DOB center has some growing up to do when it comes to rounding out his game, but there is no question he has the physical tools.

The native of Marshfield, Mass. is 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds. He was guaranteed a spot in the U.S. National Under-17 Program and had a full NCAA scholarship offer at Boston College, but he turned down those opportunities to join the Wildcats. Shea was selected in the first round, 13th overall, in the 2011 QMJHL draft.

It looks as though all of that may be behind him now. TJHN expects news from Dubuque shortly.
