Ferraro Brothers Expected To Attend Muskegon Lumberjacks Camp

As TJHN reported yesterday, the Muskegon Lumberjacks are being sold.

TJHN sources are now reporting that Chris and Peter Ferraro are expected to be present at the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks camp which begins Monday June 10th.  Monday represents the “open camp” session leading into “main camp” which opens on Wednesday June 12th.  While TJHN can not confirm the brother will attend the entire week of camp, they are expected to be actively involved in picking the final roster before camp closes.

Sources are also reporting that Head Coaching candidates have been interviewed and that the process has gone exceptionally well.  While it remains unclear if a new Head Coach announcement is imminent, sources within the USHL have informed TJHN that a new Head Coach may be hired even though the team is in an ownership transition.

While in transition, any official Head Coach hire would need to be signed off on by outgoing owner Josh Mervis if it were to take place before the ownership transfer is approved by the league. Sources are reporting that the possibility of that taking place has been addressed and would also be a formality.

Although the Ferraro Brothers group has not yet been approved by the USHL to take over ownership, it is merely a formality at this point.  Given the brothers history with the USHL, the league is more than familiar with their background.

Sources on the east coast are confirming that current Lumberjacks staff have been actively involved in the ownership transition as well as the Head Coach search.  Sources are also saying that fans can expect that key staff members will likely remain in place throughout the transition process and that most will be offered an opportunity to stay on with the team.

The USHL will hold its summer meeting on June 13th.  It is expected that everything will be made official at that time.
