Hockey Is An Emotional Game – Fixter Goes Off

You got to love this game.  The raw emotion on the ice, the hitting, and the high speed action.  You may love the game, but when it is your livelihood you can sometimes let your emotions get the better of you.

Sudbury Wolves head coach Paul Fixter was most definitely on edge following the team’s 7-2 loss at the hands of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Making matters worse, Sudbury fell to 1-10 on the season. That’s enough to make any coach prefer to be brief with the reporters in the postgame scrum, but things got particularly tense Wednesday evening.

Well Paul tell us what you really think.

Regaining his composure, Fixter did make a statement on Thursday through the teams website;

“I apologize for my use of profanity after last evening’s loss to the Greyhounds. I could have chosen my words more carefully, however, I stand by my players, the organization and the fans of the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club. The coaching staff is a passionate group and we feel the stress of losing. We are working diligently to strive to improve our record and make the fans of the Sudbury Wolves proud.”

Its and emotional game, and in my mind, it was rather refreshing to see a Head Coach get emotional.
