Jets to play exhibition games against Team USA

The Janesville Jets, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), have announced two exhibition games against the USA Hockey National Team Development Program 17-Team.   The exhibition games will be played Friday September 13, and Saturday September 14, 2013 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for our players to gain exposure to college and pro scouts playing against one of the most heavily scouted teams in America,” said Joe Dibble, Head Coach of the Jets.  “Our team will be much more experienced this season and we look forward to the challenge of measuring our progress against some of the best young players in the US.”

The 2013-14 season will be the Jets fifth season in the NAHL.  Last season the Jets had the youngest team in the NAHL, but only missed the playoff on a tie-breaker. The exhibition games come just days before the Jets will play their first regular season games of the year at the 2013 NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota from September 18-22.

“This is a big step forward for our hockey club, said Jets President, founder and NAHL chairman, Bill McCoshen.  We were honored to get the invitation and look forward to these exhibition games.”

“We are excited to welcome Janesville to Ann Arbor to face Team USA,” said Scott Monaghan, senior director of operations for the USNTDP. “The NTDP has a long relationship with the NAHL and to be able to showcase a team like the Jets to open our season is special.”
