NAHL Top Prospects less than a week away

The 2013 North American Hockey League (NAHL) Top Prospects Tournament, presented by Combat Hockey, is now less than a week away. The tournament will take place from February 18-20 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Michigan.

In a very short period of time, the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament has become one of the most highly-scouted events of its kind. Last season, over 160 scouts attended the event, which featured almost every NHL team and NCAA Division I school. Over a third of the players that competed in last year’s event ended up with an NCAA Division I opportunity.

Scout packets for all six days of the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament will be available for purchase upon entry at the Troy Sports Center for $50 (cash, check or credit card accepted). Day passes are also available for $20. The packet includes a pass for entrance into the Troy Sports Center for all six days of the event, access to the scout room, which will include food and beverage throughout the event, a tournament program, line charts for each game and all pertinent team and player information.

At the event, six teams – Dakota, Frontier, Great Lakes, Midwest, Texas and the NAHL 18U Selects – will each play three games. Each team consists of a 20-man roster as nominated by the league’s 24 head coaches and then chosen by the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament head coaches and selection committee. Each of the teams will consist of 12 forwards, 6 defensemen and 2 goaltenders. The number of players represented by each NAHL team was based on each team’s winning percentage within their division as of January 14th. In addition, there were three wild card players selected to play on the Frontier team.

A live broadcast of the games will be available for through the NAHL’s exclusive online broadcast partner, FASTHockey. Viewers can watch all the Top Prospects games during the three-day event live at www.fasthockey.com
