 PHILADELPHIA FLYERS ELITE NAME JARED BEACH HEAD COACH
TEAM TO CONDUCT TRYOUTS ON APRIL 27-28

The Philadelphia Flyers Elite, a newly formed, junior-level program designed to provide a higher level of competition for aspiring hockey players in the Greater Philadelphia Region, today named Jared Beach as their first-ever Head Coach. The team will compete in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) during the league’s inaugural season in 2013-14. 

Tryouts for the Philadelphia Flyers Elite will commence on Saturday, April 27 at 9 a.m. at the Flyers Skate Zone at Voorhees, 601 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees, NJ. A second day of tryouts will begin on Sunday, April 28 at 9 a.m., also at Flyers Skate Zone. Pre-registration is strongly recommended and more information can be found on the home page of www.flyersskatezone.com. 

Beach has coached in the Team Comcast organization for the past six years and has helped over 80 players move on to the Division 1 ranks over his 10 year coaching career. During his time with Team Comcast, Beach has led his team to three USA Hockey Nationals appearances, including a second place finish. With Beach’s relationships at the collegiate level, as well a his understanding of the game, the Flyers Elite Junior team will have the guidance and leadership to have a successful first season in the USPHL.  

Players who successfully land a spot on the Elite roster will benefit greatly from specialized instruction from Defensive Skills Coach Derian Hatcher and Skating Coach Slava Kuznetsov. The team also announced that Kevin Neeld has been hired to serve as the team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach.

The USPHL will sponsor three levels of hockey overall, including 16U and 18U Midgets, in addition to JuniorsThe teams in the 16U and 18U Midget Divisions will remain registered through their respective USA Hockey Affiliate organizations and will play under USA Hockey Rules for league play.
