Pre Draft Combine Success Stories – Two Players Up For SIJHL Awards

The Pre Draft Combine continues to lead the way for showcase players.  Yesterday, two players and one coach from the NOJHL received all star honors from the league.

Today the Superior International Junior Hockey League announced its end of the year award finalists.  Among those finalists were two players from last years Pre Draft Combine.

Alex Reichle, of the Minnesota Iron Rangers was named one of three finalists for Goaltender of the year.  Third in the SIJHL for minutes played, Reichle is fifth in goals against average, and third in save percentage in those goaltenders playing 30 games or more.  Reichle was a standout goaltender at the 2013 Pre Draft Combine garnering a lot of attention from Tier II teams throughout North America.  The 1993 DOB player is expected to announce his NCAA commitment shortly.

Sawyer Jacobson, of the Wisconsin Wilderness was named one of three finalists for Most Sportsmanlike player of the year.  The second season in the SIJHL has proven to be one that has allowed Jacobson the ability to grow as a player.  Through 53 games he has recorded 15 goals and 23 assists while only accumulating 22 minutes in penalties.  Recovering from off season wrist surgery, Jacobson needed a little time to get stronger as the season moved on.  Known for his strong two way play, Jacobson is second on the team in scoring, and continues to develop a well rounded game while weighing his NCAA options.

The SIJHL will make its award announcements in the near future.
