Saginaw Spirit’s Terry Trafford Missing

Terry Trafford has been missing for a week.  Police in Saginaw and across the border in Canada are continuing to search for the 20 year old Saginaw Spirit player.

Conflicting reports have surfaced regarding whether or not the young man was suspended or possibly cut from the Spirit as a result of getting caught smoking marijuana while on a road trip in Owen Sound Ontario on February 22nd.

While Trafford’s girlfriend has said that he had been cut from the team as a result of that alleged incident, Craig Goslin, president and managing partner of the Saginaw Spirit, said Sunday that Trafford was still on the team’s roster. He refused to comment on whether or not the player had been suspended.

Skye Cieszlak, his girlfriend of four years has also said that Trafford has battled depression for years, and that during a phone call on March 1st he had threatened to kill himself after being cut from the team.

Trafford was last seen Monday, March 3rd, at 9:30 a.m. at the Dow Event Center, the team’s home arena.  Trafford was last seen driving a green Chevrolet pickup truck with the Michigan licence plate CJA2235.

“The entire Spirit organization is very concerned for the young man and we hope and pray that he is safe and found soon,” read a statement on the team’s website.

Anyone with information is asked to call Toronto police at 416-808-1200 or to call Crime Stoppers at 416-222-8477.
