Bill Zaniboni Named Head Coach of Dells Ducks May 22, 2012 2:27 PM

The Dells Ducks, proud members of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League are pleased to announce the hiring of Bill Zaniboni to position of Head Coach.

After spending the last two seasons coaching the Bozeman Icedogs in the AWHL, it was time for him, wife Kim and son Vanek to move closer to their family in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan.

"I had a great time in Bozeman. Great Ownership, players, fans and experiences. It was just time to get a little closer to home, and John Schwarz presented the opportunity for us to do that with the Ducks." Said Zaniboni "The Ducks had a great first season and we are looking to build on that now. I immediately began working my mid western contacts for player information, and have begun targeting players to bring in this season."

"Bill was a person I have had great interest in. His reputation as a player development coach is well known, and his experience as a player and coach speaks volumes to the knowledge he can bring to our players." Said Dells Ducks President John Schwarz "We are very excited to get Bill in town and begin assembling the team."

Bill grew up in Plymouth, MA and started playing hockey at the age of two. Playing his high school hockey for Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury winning three State Championships and voted MVP junior and Senior year. Playing junior hockey in the USHL and NAHL before accepting a scholarship to Northern Michigan University playing in the CCHA.

At Northern Michigan University Bill was awarded the Peranni Cup his senior year for most game stars and winning community service awards his junior and senior year. Bill graduated with a B.S in Business Marketing. Playing Professional hockey in the ECHL, CHL, IHL,and SPHL. Ending his career with the Mississippi Surge was awarded team MVP and Goalie of the year while winning his first professional championship.

Bill started coaching when he was sixteen years old for USA hockey satellite programs and really enjoyed himself knowing this could be a great way to pass on his knowledge to the up and coming players. While playing hockey Bill always coached in the summer programs and continued learning about the game. Bill now owns my own goalie school call HockeyBeauties and have taught some very special kids (Matt Skoff – Sioux City Musketeers ushl), (Kent Simpson – Everet WHL drafted 2nd round Chicago BlackHawks) and (Kenny Rieter University of Minnisota Daluth) to name a few.
