Boston Jr. Bandits center Bruckler commits to Army September 13, 2012 8:43 AM

The Eastern Junior Hockey League continues to promote players to the NCAA. Joe Bruckler made his mark in the Atlantic Junior Hockey League before moving over to the EJHL this season. West Point Military academy, a.k.a. Army, watched his play all last season, and today Bruckler has made his commitment.

A native of Burlington, Mass., Bruckler comes to the EJHL after a sensational year for the Northern Cyclones of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League. Bruckler racked up a team-leading 53 points in 36 gamess, and led the entire AJHL with 44 assists.

Before making his mark with the Cyclones last season, Bruckler made statements in other American cities. Playing in the NAPHL for the Boston Junior Rangers, and in the Empire Junior Hockey League for the South Shore Kings, the 19 year old forward had a break out season at just the right time.

The undersized forward, known to be a pure set up man, had benefit of playing with Zach Popp last season. Zach is known to be a pure goal scorer, who is attending SUNNY Plattsburgh this season, along with Max Balaban another Cyclones alumni.

As Bruckler moves on to play for Army, he also moves on to serve the United States after graduation. A commitment to the game, and one to his country, Bruckler has shown he is a young man taking his future seriously.
