Golden Eagles Leave The Nest May 25, 2012 7:42 AM

Brantford’s Golden Eagles haveleft the nest, and will not be returning. In a move reported by TJHN, the Ontario Hockey Association made the decisions this week allowing the ove.

The junior B hockey league team got permission to move to Caledonia from Brantford. Sources have said the team will be known as the Caledonia Pro-Fit Corvairs.

As a condition of their move, which will be effective for the 2012-13 season, the team will remain in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s MidWestern Conference.

Caledonia’s current junior C team, also known as the Corvairs, will cease operations.

The Eagles cited a lack of co-operation from the city and low fan turnout as the reasons for the move. But the most pressing item leading to the move, was the denial of building a bigger and permanent dressing room from the city.
