John Bocca-Lafalce Joins TJHN and Hockey Talent Management

It was about six years ago that I first spoke with John Bocca-Lafalce.  The conversation was similar to ones I have had many times over the years, and one that I anticipate having many times to come.

John was a player who struggled with stereotypes based on his size.  I like to say he was vertically challenged.  His story was one of overcoming adversity and never giving up on his dreams.  While even I had questions on whether or not we could help him achieve his goals, John came on as a client and sure enough, he achieved.

I am pleased to announce today that John Bocca-Lafalce’s career in hockey is now coming full circle, and he will be scouting the New York and New Jersey area’s for The Junior Hockey News and Hockey Talent Management.

John played four years in the Suffolk County High School League. Where he lead his team in scoring all four years and was the first player to win back to back All-star MVP.

John continued on to play two years with SUNY Broome College where he lead the team in assist’s as a freshman. He was also instrumental in the ground breaking ceremony for a new rink at SUNY Broome. John then transfered to SUNY Cortland where he played one more year and scored 40 points in 15 games.

John was later invited to UHL, ECHL, MAHL, SPHL, and AAHL Training camps, and made the opening night roster for Evansville Ice Men, Monville Thunder and Battle Creek Revolution.

John has been an Assistant Coach with the Suffolk Selects Junior, Long Island Jr. Royals, SUNY Cortland Women teams.

Gaining that experience as an Assistant, lead John to be the Head Coach of East Woods Prep.  A private school in New York.  In four years as the head coach of East Woods, he led the Varsity team to their first win and had back to back undefeated seasons with the Junior Varsity.

John graduated from SUNY Broome with an Associates Degree in Marketing, Management and Sales.

After playing John spent time with the NY Yankees in their Guest Services department where he won an award for his guest service excellence and received a World Series ring in 2009.

John will be in the local rinks scouting Bantam, Midget and Junior players looking to advance their careers to an NCAA level.  John will also be looking for qualified players to attend the Pre Draft Combine in May.

A player who over came adversity, an experienced coach, and a quality person that will be able to offer insight into what it takes to achieve your dreams.  John has been there, and he knows what it takes to help get you there.
