John Vanbiesbrouck named USA Hockey Vice President and Junior Council Chair

John Vanbiesbrouck, a member of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame, was a unanimous selection by the Board to serve as Vice President of USA Hockey, its Junior Council chair and a member of its executive committee. He is the first former National Hockey League player to ever serve as an officer of the organization.

Vanbiesbrouck has been a very active member in USA Hockey for a number of years. The twenty years of combined Junior and Professional experience should be a great addition to USAH. "Beezer" also serves as CEO of Fast Hockey, the largest on line broadcast company specializing in hockey, a company used by nearly every junior hockey league in the USA. The relationships developed through years of experience and through those at Fast Hockey should allow for the Junior Council to have insight into every league expansion, relocation, and rule change decision made.

Next on the agenda for Vanbiesbrouck will be multiple appeal issues facing USA Hockey and the Junior Council. Notices to expansion and relocation appeal candidates were provided and those appeal’s need to be filed before the end of the month.
