Langley Rivermen add Minnesota forward

On Friday, the B.C. Hockey League’s Rivermen announced the commitment of 1994-born forward Luke Dietsch to the team for next season.

Dietsch hails from St. Paul, Minn. and played for the Cretin-Durham Hall high school program, in which he was the team captain.

Dietsch had a productive season, recording 20 goals and 15 assists in 25 games.

He also played for Team Section 3 in the Ted Brill Great 8 Tournament which is designed to showcase the state’s top seniors, and scored the game-winning goal in overtime to win the championship.

Dietsch’s ultimate goal is to obtain a scholarship, but his first order of business is to help the Rivermen become a contender.

The Rivermen are looking to improve from the 2011/12 campaign, in which they missed the playoffs and finished seventh in the eight-team Coastal Conference with a 1935-1-5 record.
