Opole HK Adds Curtis Hansen For 2021-2022

Opole HK is pleased to announce the addition of Curtis Hansen for the 2021-2022 season.

Hansen is a veteran player who proved to be explosive in Minnesota High School, carrying that through to the USPHL Premier, and on to NCAA D-3 hockey at Bethel University. Unfortunately due to the COVID pandemic, that NCAA career has been cut short, and now Hansen is heading to Poland.

“I know Curtis very well, and have watched him a lot.” Said Opole HK Head Coach Brad Zangs “He’s got great speed and explosive skating ability that will be used on the bigger ice surface in Europe. We are expecting him to return to a point a night producer like he has been in junior and High School. Being surrounded by other highly skilled players is going accelerate that process in Opole.”

Hansen has been better than a point per game player most of his career and scouts watching his NCAA games feel his is primed for a breakout campaign in Opole this season.

“I am very happy we could add Curtis at this point. He comes from a great hockey family, and brings more of that Minnesota style of play to our roster.” Said Joseph Kolodziej Owner and General Manager of Opole HK “I haven’t seen him play in a few year, but when I saw him in Tampa as a junior player, I remember him as someone who really used his skating speed well. He’s an intelligent player who will blend into the room very well.”

Opole HK finished in second place during its first season in 2020-2021. Looking to build on that success and win a championship this year, Opole HK is adding players who want to compete at the highest level of Junior hockey in Europe. Opole HK has also joined the European University Hockey League for 2021-2022 in order to add more games to the schedule, and give players the opportunity to play in several other countries.

Opole HK is looking for three Defensemen along with one Goaltender for the 2021-2022 season.
