Opole HK Adds Michal Sadowski For 2021-2022

Opole HK is adding another player from Poland. Michal Sadowski from Elblag in Northern Poland will make his way to Opole by way of Gdansk.

Last season Sadowski played in the PHL, the Professional league in Poland, making a very big jump from U-20 to professional hockey.

“I have seen Michal play at the U-20 level and he is a skilled and sometimes dominating player at that age specific group” Said Opole HK Owner and General Manager Joseph Kolodziej “Last year he was put into a situation that simply did not allow him to develop and become the best player he can be. This year, we will give him the tools, training and opportunity to become the dominating player we see he can become. After one year with us I believe he will be ready to return to the PHL in a much better position to succeed at that level.”

Sadowski can play both forward and defense. Opole HK Head Coach Brad Zangs will look at him in both positions before determining where he is best suited for his personal development as well as team success.

“With Michal we have a classic example of a player being rushed to a level he is not prepared for.” Said Opole HK Head Coach Brad Zangs “Now it is our job to put him in a position to succeed and grow. To give him insight into what will allow him to become a competitive player at the highest level and to train him to be prepared for it next year.”

Michal Sadowski heard of the Opole HK program through his former team mate in Torun, Oskar Bak, one of Poland’s best young defensemen who is returning for a second season in his home town of Opole.

Opole HK finished in second place during its first season in 2020-2021. Looking to build on that success and win a championship this year, Opole HK is out scouting and adding players who want to compete at the highest level of Junior hockey in Europe. Opole HK has also joined the European University Hockey League for 2021-2022 in order to add more games to the schedule, and give players the opportunity to play in several other countries.

Opole HK is looking for a limited number of Forwards and Defense along with one Goaltender for the 2021-2022 season.
