Opole HK Final Scouting Trip Of Summer In Vegas

Opole HK is entering the home stretch of recruiting for the summer. Head Coach Brad Zangs is out in Las Vegas at the Global Showcase.

“I love coming to this event every year.” Said Opole HK Head Coach Brad Zangs “Like all the other scouts and coaches here, it gives us a great opportunity to see where the players are in their training. This season, its so much more important to see how the players have managed their time during the pandemic. Did they spend it in the gym, or did they spend it playing video games? Its going to be an important year for all players.”

Opole HK is looking to fill its five remaining roster spots. Two forwards and three defensemen are all that’s needed.

“Our timeline for recruiting is a little different in Europe.” Said Opole HK Owner and General Manager Joseph Kolodziej “Many teams in Europe train together year round, and the pre season for us begins in August, with the regular season starting in September. So our recruiting time line is a little more accelerated than most players are used to. That said, there are not many better experiences you can have in August than playing hockey all over Europe.”

Opole HK plays in the highest level of junior hockey in Poland as well as the European University Hockey League. Games are played in Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Germany and Ukraine.
