Opole HK is pleased to announce that Forward Gavin Fleck has agreed to return for the 2021-2022 season.
“Gavin became a big contributor for us. We didn’t get him to Opole until November, and it took a bit for him to adjust to the bigger ice surface. But once he did, he started lighting up the oppositions goaltenders.” Said Opole HK Owner and General Manager Joseph Kolodziej “Gavin finished the last five games of the season by putting up twelve points. He started shooting the puck more and you could just see him feeling more comfortable and playing with confidence.”
Finishing the season with fourteen points in ten games, and averaging more than a point per game is a successful season by any measure.
“I have watched some of the game video and you can see Gavin playing with more and more confidence as the year went on.” Said Head Coach Brad Zangs “In the few exhibition games against other another teams top pro players he was unstoppable. He is going to be a big piece of our team and will provide a lot of leadership moving forward.”
Gavin Fleck is no stranger to successful scoring production. Prior to joining Opole HK, in 99 KIJHL games including playoffs, Fleck produced 66 points.
“I am really looking forward to coming back next season. I put on ten pounds of muscle while there this year simply based on the diet, workout facilities, and having access to the gym any time of the day. Building on the success I had this year, and getting to work a little earlier, its going to be a great year in Opole.” Said Gavin Fleck
Fleck, having discovered he has Polish ancestors will be eligible to play for the Polish National Team once establishing Citizenship. IIHF rules require that a citizen must play in his home country for two seasons to be eligible to represent his country in International competition such as the Winter Olympics.
