Opole HK – Jonah Henderson Earns Professional Hockey Opportunity

Opole HK is pleased to announce the second player from the 2020-2021 season who is advancing to higher levels of play.

Opole HK Captain Jonah Henderson will be taking advantage of an opportunity to play professional hockey in Poland during the 2021-2022 season with Comarch Cracovia.

While spending his last day in Krakow, preparing for the long trip home to Alaska, Henderson was notified that he will need to report to Comarch Cracovia in August.

“I had a great season in Opole and was able to visit Krakow a few times during the season and it is just a beautiful city. We played against the Cracovia junior team so I was able to come here and get familiar with the building as well.” Said Henderson “My goal for this year was to simply play as best as I could and try to earn an opportunity for next year. I am grateful that I had such great team mates to help me accomplish this, and the support I received while in Opole was simply the best.”

“Jonah was our Captain for many reasons. He worked hard, he lead by example, and he constantly supported his team mates and helped them to perform better.” Said Opole HK Owner and General Manager Joseph Kolodziej “It was really a pleasure to see him the night before he was leaving and inform him of this opportunity. He earned it with his hard work, and made a name for himself throughout Europe by winning the scoring title this year. I will look forward to picking him up at the airport in a few months when he returns.”

Opole HK is a program designed to develop players to their greatest potential. With unrivaled facilities for training, unlimited access to the team gym, the nutrition to help gain muscle during the season, it is a program that takes the basic foundation of the USNTDP and brings it to Europe.

Opole HK, in one year has become the standard that all junior programs will now aspire to in Europe.” Said Kolodziej “The only thing missing in our first year was a Championship, and I am confident we will reach that goal next season.”
