Opole HK, in a history making season is celebrating team Captain Jonah Henderson’s winning of the MHL Regular Season Scoring Title.
Finishing second in the league in Goals and fourth in assists, Henderson, in his first year playing in Poland has certainly made a name for himself.
Henderson set his personal goal of leading the league in points a few weeks into the regular season.
Entering yesterdays regular season finale Henderson was three points behind the league scoring leader from Bytom, Henderson knew it would be an up hill climb to win the title.
Little by little though the opportunities came. With a goal and assist in the second period, and another goal and assist in the third period against Sanok, Henderson overtook the leader and won the title outright.
39 points in 22 regular season games is a scoring pace that has gotten the attention of scouts in Poland as well.
As a 20 year old, opportunities at the professional level are now being worked on.
