The Play Safe Stay Safe program launching in Opole Poland for the 2020-2021 is pleased to announce that James Spence has committed to take his talents back home to Europe.
The Scottish Forward is joining the long list of talented players who turned in their contract and is excited about being closer to home and playing on the larger ice surface again next season.
Spence most recently competed in the CSSHLE and ECEL with the Ontario Hockey Academy. The forward is looking forward to picking things up and moving forward with the Opole HK program.
Spence had a great 2019-2020 season with OHA in the CSSHLE picking up 22 points in 20 games.
After spending the last three seasons in Canada, Spence will be much closer to home this year. Opole HK made the most sense for Spence after learning he could not enter the United States due to border closures, and learning that Opole HK would have Canadian coaches and a North American style.
The 2002 birth year player is looking forward to the opportunity to be seen by junior and professional scouts from around Europe representing European and North American teams.
With the uncertainty in Canada and the United States right now, Spence felt the Play Safe Stay Safe program allowed for him to have the best opportunity to enjoy an uninterrupted 2020 2021 season.
