Otters getting goalie help

The Erie Otters have confirmed one goaltender for tonight’s game against Plymouth.

Adam Wood, 18, an eighth-round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection, heads to Erie today after playing for Clarington Tuesday in Game 1 of the Central Ontario Junior C Hockey League finals.

Bassin applied to the league for emergency assistance in hopes of overcoming the loss of injured goaltenders Ramis Sadikov and Devin Williams.

Williams suffered a concussion Friday against Saginaw. Sadikov suffered a similar injury Sunday against Niagara, which forced forward Connor Crisp to enter the game as the emergency goaltender.

Brown said league officials provided contact information for two goaltenders who Brown believes are on protected lists for OHL clubs. Those two clubs, which Brown declined to name, have been contacted by the league. Brown said league officials have "been amazing in trying to assist us in this process."

Otters fans could get to know these mystery goaltenders well. They could play in a few, if not all, of the team’s final six games of the season, which will be played in a span of 11 days.

Bassin didn’t respond to a phone message Tuesday.

No further information has been made available regarding lease talks with Bassin.
