Remembering Bobby Skinner

Another hockey soul was taken from us when Boise police declared the death of former Seattle Totems player, Bobby Skinner, at 2:35AM on Friday Aug. 23. 

Initial police reports state that they do not suspect a criminal element and that the situation is “a tragic accident.” Skinner was found lifeless due to a single gun shot wound. Further investigation will be conducted with the DA’s involvement in order to determine if there was foul play or not. 

Skinner most recently played two years for the Boise State University Men’s Hockey Team, and was a beloved teammate. He appeared in 26 games during the 2017-2018 season and capped off his first collegiate year with 4G-8A-12Pts. During his sophomore year, in 2018-2019, he finished with 1G-7A-8Pts. 

Prior to his ACHA debut, Skinner played the length of two seasons in the Western States Hockey League for the Seattle Totems. In two season’s his combined stat line was 15G-34A-49Pts.  

“Not only was Bobby an amazing hockey player, he was a terrific person as well. Bobby had the ability to brighten everyone’s day. He had an infectious laugh that could be heard from rooms away. Whether in the classroom, on the ice or during day-to-day life, Bob had the ability to turn your day around.”
