Shutout for Dobson in Timmins debut

NOELVILLE, Ont. – Timmins Rock affiliate goaltender Bradley Dobson stopped all 33 shots fired his way in his Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League debut Saturday as he blanked the French River Rapids 3-0 at Noelville Arena.

It was a hard-fought affair throughout with the game going scoreless through 40 minutes of play.

Timmins got the eventual winner 5:03 into the final frame as Andrew Castagna converted on a man advantage opportunity.

The Rock added to their cushion midway through the period as Ryan Kerr notched his first of the season.

Timmins then finished things off with an insurance goal by Jordan Rendle at 15:45 to round out the scoring.

Joe Olson chipped in with two assists for the Rock.

Alec St-Georges faced 39 shots in defeat for French River.
