St. Cloud State Lands Daniel Tedesco July 9, 2012 8:02 AM

The Ontario Junior Hockey League keeps producing talent. The numbers simply cant be denied and the verbal commitment made by Daniel Tedesco is just another example of that talent development and production.

Tedesco, 18, is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward who bhas played the last two seasons in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. St. Cloud State has 15 forwards for its roster for this season, but two of the forwards are coming off serious injuries, its unclear when Tedesco will join the team.

In 2010-11, he had seven goals and 22 assists in 44 regular season games for the Villanova Knights of the OJHL. This past season, he played for the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots leading the team in goals with 28, tied for the team lead in points with 60 and was second on the team in penalty minutes with 72 in 48 regular season games.

The Lakeshore Patriots reached the semifinals of the OJHL and Tedesco had 13 goals, eight assists and 22 penalty minutes in 22 playoff games.

Tedesco can play both wing and center, so his versitility was attractive when recruiting. With two centers recovering from injury, he may be called apon to fill the middle. No matter what the position, Tedesco seems to always find a way to produce. Look for that production and development to continue as he continues to bring his game to the next level.
