Wranglers Sign Sizable Goalie
Kenny Simmons Named New Coach
The Steamboat Wranglers are proud to announce Kenny Simmons as the new Head Coach for the Wranglers. Simmons was Assistant Coach last season and replaces Ryan Dingle as Head Coach. Dingle will be the new Director of Hockey for the Steamboat Stampede Youth Hockey Association. Dingle will also continue as Head Scout for the Wranglers and Player Development Coach.
Simmons says, “Ryan is an amazing coach, role model, and friend. With him taking on this new position as Director of Hockey for SSYHA, I know it will allow him to spend more time with his wife and two boys here in Steamboat. We will certainly still be working together this year (with our offices being right next door), to put the best product we can on the ice and show Steamboat what Junior Hockey is all about.”
Wrangler co-owner Brent Pearson adds,” I’m extremely excited about Kenny Simmons taking on the challenge as our new head coach. His energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge was a huge asset in our first year in the prestigious Western States Hockey League (WSHL). His understanding of the mountain town and its culture will also be a huge benefit moving forward as the Steamboat Wranglers continue to grow in the WSHL.
The Wranglers are hosting a summer tryout camp June 8-9 at The Edge Ice Arena in Littleton. Coach Simmons says the team is excited to get things going over the summer. “We have a tryout camp in June and other showcases around the country that we’ll be able to get eyes on young new players and veteran players alike. Certainly there is a lot of work to be done to kick off the season on the right foot!”
Please join the Wrangler organization in welcoming Head Coach Kenny Simmons.
