Stolarz To Leave UNO For OHL London Knights January 7, 2013 4:32 PM

Goaltender Anthony Stolarz, a 1994-born Philadelphia Flyers draft pick is “expected to sign” with London, according to a press release posted on the University of Nebraska-Omaha’s website.

Stolarz, 18, was 2-5-0 in eight appearances as an NCAA rookie, with an .898 save percentage and a 2.56 goals-against average. . The move is an unusual one in that Stolarz has not been a dominating player for UNO this season, but is seen as adjusting to the NCAA level of play fairly well. How does this equate to his success in Major Junior Hockey? With a team like the London Knights that remains to be seen.

The London Knights are arguably the best team in Major Junior Hockey right now. Only three teams have allowed fewer goals against than London, but all three of those teams have also played three fewer games. With Jake Patterson leading the Knights in net, the odd man out would appear to be Kevin Bailie. Bailie was picked up from Oshawa this year and has respectable numbers as well.

Coming off a 24 game win streak, the Knights may have just gotten better.
