The Death Pool – CPJHL Kills Off Team Mid Season Due To Player Off Ice Activity

Monday. Love them or hate them, there is no avoiding them. For some people its the start of a new week to get things moving forward, and for others its a day to pack their shit and get the hell out.

People can say what they want about the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League. They can say its not as good as other leagues or complain that its not part of Hockey Canada. But they can not say that the league isn’t run right.

Instead of trying to sweep problems under the carpet like some leagues, the CPJHL addresses them and they do it publicly. There is nothing to hide when you are doing the right thing.

So the CPJHL killed off the Coldwater Ice Wolves when it was found out that half of the team participated in an off ice activity that was considered to be detrimental to the development of young athletes.

Nine players were immediately suspended and sent home. The remaining players were then disbursed among the other clubs so they could finish the season in a stable environment.

Some leagues would try to cover up their disciplinary activity. You know like suspending coaches indefinitely and fining owners…..but more on that other league later this week.

Anyway, the Coldwater Ice Wolves are done. Stick a fork in them. Good for the league and better for the remaining players.
