Ohhhhhhhh hell yeah. There’s no story like a “G show” story is there boys and girls. Seriously, if you had to write a movie script on the league it would have nearly every team looking like the freaking Chiefs from Slap Shot. Everyone would be getting sold and moved to a retirement community in Florida before they fold!
Now, I have been getting emails from people about Wiarton for months. The last few weeks though its really heated up, and the other day I got a heads up that they were on the verge of folding. Imagine that, a “G show” team on the verge of folding! Shocking I know! Ha Ha Ha
Then yesterday I got a heads up that Wiarton had been financially bailed out by the Meadford Knights. Now, digest that for a second. Yeah, the Meadford Knights who boast a record of 8-13-0 annnnnd 5 of those 8 wins come against the recently incarcerated group owning Orangeville and the now saved Wiarton Rock.
Ummmmmm yeah, so who the hell wouldn’t want to keep one of the only two teams you can beat in the league for the rest of the year when you have 5 more games scheduled against them!
Its cool though that we now know Meadfords owners have some dough to do this. And we sure aren’t surprised this is happening when Joe Ziel is the owner, the same owner that had the Grey Highlands Braveharts shit show in the GMHL last year.
But hey, that’s the GMHL searching out quality ownership groups for you. Recycle everyone. Just move them to a different city. No one will find out. Ha Ha Ha
Another thing we are hearing is that if Joe Ziel doesn’t pay back the Knights owners, then they will take over ownership completely. Now at least someone is using their head there. Then again, what’s a “G show” franchise worth? Probably five bucks Canadian if the team equipment is included.
Yeah, thanks boys, I got somethin to laugh about while I am out scouting this weekend. You know what scouting is? Nahhhhh, never mind. Ha Ha Ha
Have a great weekend everyone!
