Bloomington Blaze to name Coach and Add Junior Team May 14, 2012 7:05 AM
The Central Hockey Leagues Bloomington Blaze will be adding Junior Hockey to its offerings. TJHN reported on the Great Lakes Junior Hockey League reaching out to CHL owners nearly a month ago.
A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday May 16th. It is expected that the Blaze will also announce a new coach for their CHL team at this time.
The question concerning junior hockey is which group have the Blaze chosen to go with. There are two groups competing to control junior hockey under an AAU banner int he Great Lakes region.
One group is attempting to keep the GLJHL banner flying while another is expected to announce their league this week wants nothing to do with the former GLJHL.
The other question is why would a professional team want to add junior hockey on a pay to play model at this late date in the year?
