Four EJHL Representatives Removed From BOG Based On USPHL Moves

As TJHN reported last week, the USPHL announcement has gotten attorneys involved concerning the effects of certain public statements on the EJHL moving forward.   USPHL Looks Like A Go

While USA Hockey would like to see a peaceful resolution that would allow the New Jersey Hitmen, South Shore Kings, Middlesex Islanders and the Boston Junior Bruins to continue in the EJHL, it would appear that there is nothing peaceful about the process.

According to reports from EJHL insiders, the New Jersey Hitmen, South Shore Kings, Middlesex Islanders and the Boston Junior Bruins have been forced by a states attorney general to remove previous BOG representatives and replace themselves with new representatives.

Though reports remain cloudy, the attorney generals office is reportedly making this order due to “unfair business practices” and alleged “bait and switch” tactics.  Though no EJHL representatives have been willing to go on the record with statements, multiple sources are reporting off the record that this move has indeed happened.

Sources are also continuing to report that while a compromise may yet be made that the four teams intend on playing in an eight team USPHL league.  A proposed compromise has been reported to be that if those teams do move ahead with the USPHL as a       U-20 league, that the top level players must compete on the EJHL team next season.  One EJHL member questions just how anyone will be able to determine which players are actually the top players, what criteria would be used and who would be the judge of that criteria?

USA Hockey is concerned about the east coast market being confused.  It would appear that their concern is well founded.
