Mervis Out Of Muskegon USHL?

In the last week, many rumors have been circulating around the USHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks.

The firing of Head Coach Jim McKenzie came as a surprise to many as it happened so deep into the off season and right before the start of training camp.

Now, if things are to be believed, Josh Mervis may have sold his stake in the USHL Muskegon Lumberjacks.

Pay close attention to the information underneath photo in this file.  Nine hours ago, Josh Mervis updated his profile making himself the CEO/President of Danville Hockey LLC.  Going further, the start and end dates further down his profile for Muskegon and the USHL have an end date of June 2013.  Normally end dates do not exist on Linkedin unless the person updating the profile actually changes jobs.

TJHN is attempting to confirm this report.

Other information coming out of New York late last night and now early this morning has an ownership group taking over Muskegon.  Although TJHN has been informed that at least two former NHL players may be involved we are electing to not release thier names at this point until we can speak with them directly.

The potential for an ownership change would help explain the firing of McKenzie and would also help explain the delay in announcing a new Head Coach.

Muskegons open camp is slated to begin one week from today.  Answers to these and more questions are likely to be answered sooner rather than later.

TJHN will update this story as more information becomes available.
