Jake Stima Signs With Dells Ducks August 16, 2012 7:01 AM

Last year at the final tryout in the Dells the Ducks found Aidan Verbeke, and all Verbeke did was turn out to be was the Minnessota Junior Hockey League MVP. At this years final open tryout the Ducks may have found another player with MVP potential.

Jake Stima has signed with the Ducks for the 2012-13 team.

"We are proud to say that there were over 40 kids that wanted to be a Duck and have asked us for a tender or a contract." Said Ducks President John Schwarz "I am looking forward to this year and the Coaches have put together a very deep and solid team."

Stima lead the Rockford Icemen (Illinois) to their 15th consecutive state title last year, serving as the team’s captain in his senior season. A leader in the dressing room, Stima also lead on the ice with his two way point producing play as a defenseman.

"Jake showed us this past weekend why he was a captain and why he was so highly sought after by other teams all around the country." Said Head Coach Bill Zaniboni "He demonstrated speed, poise, and a great hockey sense that simply cant be taught. Pairing him with some of our more conservative defenseman will allow him the freedom to create offensively. Fans are going to enjoy watching him play this season."

We have covered half of the Ducks blue line this year, tomorrow we will look at another forward.
