Joey Bower Signs With Dells Ducks August 3, 2012 7:50 AM

Scoring. We have focussed on scoring with the first two Dells Ducks player profiles in Justin Gregory and Eric Cameron. Today is no different.

One of the most prolific scorers in Crystal Lake South (Illinois High School) hockey history, and Illinois All State Athlete, is headed to the Dells Ducks.

Joey Bower, a four-year varsity player, and team captainwho racked up 90 points last season, signed a contract with the Dells Ducks, of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League. Bower practiced with the Ducks once this winter and had been talking with the team for some time.

Bower scored 32 goals and had 58 assists for Crystal Lake South, which was 30-18-4 this season. He finished his High School career with a remarkable 200 points (70 goals, 130 assists).

"I got to see Joey play for the first time in June, and immediately saw why he was so successful in High School." Said Head Coach Bill Zaniboni "His numbers would lead you to believe he is a set up man, but he can score goals too. He is a balanced player who just needs a little more time before moving up to the next level."

"I am excited. Meeting the people involved, watching the team grow over the summer and getting closer to the season has me looking forward to camp." Said Bower at a recent Ducks skate in Chicago "The Ducks have added all the right people to support the team, and the players that have been coming in have been great to skate with and get to know. We have some vets and some first year guys, but everyone can play, and I am looking forward to working with my new team mates this season."

"I have known the Bower family for years." Said Ducks President John Schwarz "Joey is a great person, not just a great player. Watching him pursue his dream of playing college hockey through High School and now with the Ducks is very fun. There is no question in my mind that he will just continue to get better as he plays with players that will push him to be better. Its going to be an exciting year in the Dells."

Stay tuned as we profile another Ducks player on monday.
