Rob Meadows Signs With Dells Ducks August 10, 2012 9:24 AM

Quality goaltending is something you can never have too much off. The Dells Ducks have that quality three deep this season.

Rob Meadows is another player following Coach Bill Zaniboni to the Mid West, but he is no stranger to the area having played his Midget hockey in St. Clair Shores Michigan in the Little Ceasars system. Having won a Michigan State Championship, and League Championship in consecutive years, Meadows made the move to the AWHL last season.

This season Meadows will bring his .910 save percentage to the Minnesota Junior Hockey League and the Dells Ducks. An athletic goaltender, Meadows is known for making the big saves when his team needs them most.

"Rob is a very solid technical goaltender, he moves well and works hard. I expect him to get some serious looks from the North American Hockey League this year." Said Head Coach Bill Zaniboni "Having played the position, I am fortunate to be able to pass on my experiences to him. Because it is such a competitive position, and there is such limited opportunity for goaltenders to got to college, I think my experience can help him along that path."

I had a chance to talk with Meadows at the TJHN showcase this past April:

"If you want to learn how to play at the highest level of junior and college hockey, Coach Bill has been there and done it. I have learned so much from him in the past year that I think I have really started to refine the more technical aspects of the position. I believe that by working with him, and seeing how hard he works to move kids on to higher levels, its only a matter of time before I get that chance. There’s nothing like having a former goalie for a head coach when you’re a goalie."

Stay tuned as we profile another Ducks player daily until the start of the MNJHL season.
