Kalamazoos Brett Beauvais Commits to Bemidji State October 23, 2012 7:17 AM
Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, members of the North American Hockey League, have added another college commitment to their list of accomplishments. Defenseman Brett Beauvais has made a commitment to play college hockey for Bemidji State in the WCHA. Beauvais is a 1994 birthdate from Summerside, Prince Edward Island, who is in his second year with the Wings.
Beauvais is seen as an offensive defenseman that skates well and has good hockey sense. Beauvais leads Kalamazoo’s defensemen in scoring with seven assists through 11 games, and has established himself as the team’s top offensive defenseman. Last year a rookie, he notched 20 points in 60 games, with 12 of those points coming on the power play.
Prior to joining Kalamazoo last season Beauvais made a name for himself playing in the Canadian prep circuit at Ridley College, and playing for Canada at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge. Ridley College is also known for its academics, and Beauvais is known to be a dedicated student as well as a player. A solid addition to Bemidji State.
