Langfield gets call to NAHL January 9, 2013 7:34 AM
North Iowa Bulls defenseman Connor Langfield spent last week with the NAHL North Division leaders Soo Eagles. Eagles scout Tom Farnquist asked Bulls head coach Todd Sanden if he had a defenseman that could come in and play for a stretch due to injuries in the Soo defensive corps.
Langfield came immediately to mind for Sanden, "Connor has been our best defenseman from the time he arrived here after starting the season in Minot of the NAHL".
Connor is a league leader in several categories and one of the best defensemen in the NA3HL at this point. Langfield arrived in the Soo on Tuesday and practiced with the Eagles before getting in the lineup on Saturday night helping the Soo to a 6-5 win. Connor true to his game played even in the +/- category.
The North Iowa Bulls are always willing to work with NAHL teams in situations like this where it may be a temporary to permanent opportunity. With the Soo expecting players coming healthy soon, Connor will be returning to the Bulls to continue help lead them.
Farnquist commented, "Connor didn’t look out of place and certainly has the ability to play at that level, he didn’t hurt us that’s for sure." Thank you to Eagles head coach Bruno Bragagnolo for showing the confidence in Connor and the North Iowa Bulls to bring up one of our players. Bragagnolo mentioned that they would call him up again if they got in a similar situation.
