Week of Oct. 14, 2024
Games of Oct. 8-14
Forward: Zach Groleau, Utica Jr. Comets
Groleau (‘06/St-Constant, Que.) pulled up to a point-per-game average on the season early on by dishing out four assists in two games this past weekend. That puts him at a 0-6-6 line in his first six NCDC contests.
Defense: Jason Zaccari, South Shore Kings
Zaccari (‘05/Santa Ana, Calif.) returns to this honor after winning it to close September’s action. He registered three assists over the course of two wins against the Islanders Hockey Club. His efforts have helped the Kings to a 7-1-0-0 record for 14 points, good for second place overall in the entire NCDC.
Goaltender: Cole Scullion, Worcester Railers JHC
On Oct. 10, Scullion (‘06/Burlington, Ont.) saw more shots from the Northern Cyclones just in 65 minutes than he had in his first two NCDC games with the Railers combined. Scullion was absolutely heroic as he gave up just one goal on 64 shots, averaging nearly one per minute. From there he stopped four of five in a shootout to give the Railers a victory against the Cyclones.
Rookie: Lorenzo Marra, Northern Cyclones
Marra (‘06/Latham, N.Y.) put up the game-winning goal and two assists to help the Cyclones defeat the Boston Jr. Rangers on Oct. 11. With four points in his first seven junior games, the former Albany Academy and NY Dynamo standout has been a great addition for the Cyclones.
