USPHL Premier Players Of The Week: West Region

Week of Oct. 9, 2024

Games of Oct. 1-7, 2024

Pacific Division

Forward: Christopher Larochelle, Bakersfield Roughnecks

Larochelle (‘06/Quebec City, Que.) has busted out for the Roughnecks, putting up 4-6-10 early on in his new junior career. Part of this lint comes from last week’s performance that saw three goals and four assists in just two games.

Defense: Scott McNulty, Lake Tahoe Lakers

McNulty (‘04/Williamstown, N.J.) returns to this honor thanks to another big three-game weekend for the Lakers, who are now 8-1-0-0 overall. McNulty posted three goals and added three more assists. At 7-7-14 in seven games, he now leads all Premier blueliners in scoring.

Goaltender: Domenik McInenly, Ontario Jr. Reign

McInenly (‘07/Red Deer, Alb.) returns to Player Of The Week honors thanks to his 33-save shutout effort against the Henderson Force on Friday, Oct. 4. He has let in just one goal so far in his junior career, two games in. He is second in the Premier in save percentage at .985 among goaltenders with more than one appearance.

Northwest Division

Forward: Kasper Pohjala, Vernal Oilers

Pohjala (‘05/Helsinki, Finland) literally just arrived in Vernal on Oct. 2, and he went right to work. In his first three North American games, all wins against Seattle, he put up two goals and added seven assists for nine points.

Defense: Marek Mraz, Iron County Yeti

The Yeti enjoyed their first three-game sweep this past weekend against Bremerton, and a big key to the victory was Mraz (‘06/Kolin, Czechia), who racked up three goals and three assists for six points. Although from Czechia originally, he played for Big Rapids High School in Michigan last year.

Goaltender: James Stark, Colorado Fighting Elk

Stark (‘06/Parker, Colo.) joined the first-year Fighting Elk out of Chaparral High School and stood tall in his first career junior start. He registered 38 saves on 39 shots as the Fighting Elk earned their first-ever victory against the Bellingham Blazers.
