NAHL’s Keystone Ice Miners Introduced

A new page is being added to the North American Hockey League’s history books today.  The Port Huron Fighting Falcons are no longer, and the Keystone Ice Miners have now begun.

New beginnings bring optimism and enthusiasm.  The Keystone Ice Miners also have experience to add to the mix.

Enter Tom Kinsey, new President of the franchise.  Tom brings extensive experience in financial and facility management.  New Vice President Brad Bujos also brings a wealth of experience and is currently in charge of the Ice Mine where the Ice Miners will now call home.

“We have been working with Maribeth, Coach Gershon and others to make this a reality.”  Said Tom Kinsey “We have tremendous community support and a growing hockey community that sincerely wanted this team here.”

Head Coach and General Manager Michael Gershon said, “Its nice to have a home for this great group of players.  Its not often a first place team relocates, but we are going to bring Connellsville and South Western Pennsylvania a winner right from the start.”

The teams owner Maribeth Hayes, flew out from California for the introductory press conference.  “I am so happy we were able to get this done for the players, this community and for the league.  Having local people steering the ship on a day to day basis makes me confident that this team will become an asset to the community in short order.”

The Keystone Ice Miners have set up a temporary website at www.keystoneiceminers.com as well as Facebook and Twitter accounts.  We encourage all fans to give them a follow and a like.  https://twitter.com/keystoneminers     https://www.facebook.com/keystoneiceminers
