The Cobourg Galaxy.  What a name.  That’s super awesome.  Its like Ilya Bryzgalov super awesome…..

Ahhhhhh yes.  The Bryz.  Who knew he was in the business of helping people find names for their teams?

So, the CPJHL in another move toward quality control have killed off the Cobourg Galaxy.  Lets not get confused about this either because the leagues statement makes it clear this was a team being killed off over quality and not player numbers.

“In the interest of player safety, we simply could not let the Galaxy continue this season,” said league president Stephane Laveault. “We thank the organization for its contributions, and would certainly entertain conversations in the offseason about the team returning for the 2018-19 season.

“We finished our league showcase today and without the Madawaska Valley Falcons and Cobourg Galaxy, our league has become stronger and more competitive. There were no blowouts and players now have a better opportunity to grow and develop.”

Ohhhhhhh shit.  I wonder if other leagues will read this statement?  I wonder if any of them will have the balls to follow the CPJHL lead?  Ha Ha Ha  Yeah, I know, that was a stupid question.  We all know the other leagues are to freakin greedy to worry about anything close to quality control.

So now the second year CPJHL stands at 10 teams.  That’s pretty good considering Ontario is crazy over saturated with junior hockey programs.

While it looks like the CPJHL is done killing off teams, it doesn’t look like a few other leagues are done having teams fold.  Yep, we got a little info on five more teams that could be done before the holiday break.

Tier III the gift that keeps on giving….
