Ontario wasn’t to be taken lightly and the Thunderbirds understood that requiring a shootout effort in Game 1. Joseph Wheeler won it for Las Vegas who saw its lead slip late in the third period.

In Game 2, the Avs got started with an initial lead after Kai Maunula opened the scoring at 16:13 of the second period. The Thunderbirds didn’t wait too long for a response scoring just over five minutes later as Joseph Terrana and Mikhail Gerasin both connected to steal the win in the third.

Ontario could scathe away with a single victory over the weekend; mainly due to Gabel Longshore who carried the team with a hat trick in the third period of Game 3. Liam Massie had the game-winning contribution burying the dagger.

The Avalanche were down 3-0 as the T-Birds gained the 2-0 lead in the first frame, and Austen Kerridge pushed it to 3-0 early in the second. Ontario connected on five straight tallies from 11:41 of the second to about 22 seconds left in the game to redeem themselves in one fell swoop.

In Game 2, Zackory Turpin had himself an eight-point night to oust Valencia with four goals and four assists; Narek Aleksanyan registered five assists and two goals for seven points.

Well, they squeaked by in Game 1 when two-second period goals sufficed to lift them over the Totems. Steven Brachert scored Seattle’s first goal of the weekend at 12:57 of the first making it 1-0. Then, Hunter Howe and Trevor Wittkopf made it 2-1 in favor of San Diego.

Ludwig Nordqvist made 30 saves in Game 2 to earn his eight win and third shutout of the season. Nordqvist reached his ninth win on Sunday’s Game 3 when he made 36 saves.

The Timberwolves were awarded a two-man advantage as Maverick Baxtrom was assessed an interference penalty, and Hudson Guenette for high-sticking. Hinton capitalized on the special teams bid with a goal from Bryant Joseph taking the early 1-0 lead.

Mathew Rathbone and Quentin Stempfel combined with two goals each, and Niklas Froden added a fifth goal, to overwhelm the Timberwolves who rarely deal with deficits.
