Jason DiMatteo, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights
The No. 2 scorer in the league was the No. 1 scorer in December, as DiMatteo put up 12 goals in six games along with nine assists for 21 points. It was an astounding performance from the ’04 out of Boca Raton, Fla., who now has 32 goals and 49 points in 24 games. His 12-game, 30-point scoring streak is the longest in the league.
John Crowdell, Rockets Hockey Club
First to 50, Crowdell has hit the half-century mark in points before any other Elite player this year and leads the USPHL Elite in scoring entering the first action of 2023. In December, he posted a 4-13-17 line to keep his Rockets in the playoff hunt with a .500 record overall and on the month (3-3-1-0).
Edward Kienzle, New York Aviators
The Aviators’ scoring machine has already eclipsed the 100-point mark and currently stands with 115 on his career, thanks to a 6-10-16 line in the month of December, in which he played just six games. He has 38 points in 22 games this season.
Defense
Owen Braatz, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights
Braatz (’03/Prosper, Texas) helped the Knights not only keep their lead in the Mid-Atlantic Division but stand at fourth overall with 44 points on the season. The team is on a 6-0-1-0 points streak, and Braatz has been a big reason for that for both his defensive play and his offense. He posted a goal and eight assists for nine points, and also earned his third game up with the Knights’ USPHL Premier team.
Peter Allen, P.A.L. Jr. Islanders
The ’06 out of Oceanside, N.Y., was one of many leaders for the first-year Jr. Islanders in keeping them in second place of the Mid-Atlantic Division, even though it’s just by a point. He put up three goals and three assists for six points in five games. Allen improved to 14 points in 26 games this season.
Goaltender
Ashton Goble, New York Aviators
Goble (’04/Colorado Springs, Colo.) was a great pickup for the Aviators out of Doherty High School in Colorado Springs. He had his best month yet when he went 3-0 through December, stopping 113 of the 118 shots he faced for a .950 save percentage and a 2.00 goals against average. He made 40 saves in consecutive wins against the Rockets and Jersey Hitmen, and he also stopped 33 of 34 against the Elmira Jr. Enforcers.
