#USPHLCommitments: Islanders’ Gallagher Excited For Future With Mass. College Of Liberal Arts

Islanders Hockey Club forward Christopher Gallagher is going to continue his athletic and academic career at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. MCLA was an easy choice for Gallagher once he visited the campus.

“The second I stepped on campus, I was amazed at the beautiful mountain scenery, how updated the campus was, how easy it was to navigate, and how it felt like home,” said Gallagher. “What interested me about MCLA on the hockey side was Coach [Jeremiah] Ketts’ ambition for this new program and how the school is very brought in with him.”

Coach Ketts saw potential in Gallagher’s physical play, ability to block shots, win puck battles, and generate offense, and knew he would be an asset to the team. While at MCLA, Gallagher is going to be studying Business Administration.

When Christopher was asked about playing for the Islanders Hockey Club, he had nothing but good things to say about the organization and its coach.

“The Islanders Hockey Club is a very high-class organization and expects the best out of each and every person who walks in the door,” said Gallagher, who posted 28 points in 42 games during the regular season and he also registered three points during the postseason. “No matter which team you’re on, everyone in the organization has your back and is treated like family.”

Gallagher, who started in the USPHL Premier with the former Pittsburgh Vengeance, played in 102 total Premier games, generating 66 points, with 62 of those coming in the last two seasons.

Coach Jay Punsky played a major role on Gallaghers development “Coach Punsky always makes sure we’re prepared each and every day. He works very hard on the development of his players and makes sure they not only have the correct skills but a positive mindset to play at the next level,” said Gallagher.

He couldn’t be happier with his decision to play for the Islanders Hockey Club this year. “Not only for their college development, but the winning culture they provide makes it a great organization to be a part of,” Gallagher added.

The USPHL congratulates Christopher Gallagher, his family, the Islanders Hockey Club and the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts for his commitment.
