NCDC 2023-24 Players Of The Week: Mountain Division

Forward: Hunter Hayes, Pueblo Bulls

Hayes (‘04/Stockton, Calif.) saw his goals play a big part in the Bulls’ weekend sweep of the Rock Springs Grizzlies. His first goal on Friday tied the game 3-3, and his second was the first of an eventually unanswered three goals to end the game with a 6-5 Bulls win in overtime. On Saturday, Hayes scored the game-winning goal in the 4-1 victory. He currently has a 4-2-6 line through eight games. 

 

Defense: Nate Farrell, Pueblo Bulls

Farrell (‘04/Wheaton, Ill.) registered the game-winning goal in overtime that saw the Bulls come back from being down 5-3 to start the third period and get the victory on Friday. He then scored his seventh goal of the season in the 4-1 victory and led his team with a +7 rating for the weekend sweep of the Grizzlies. 

 

Goaltender: Cameron Hollands, Ogden Mustangs

The second-year Tier II veteran Hollands (‘04/Ottawa, Ont.) was impressive with his 33-save performance on 34 shots by the Idaho Falls Spud Kings as the Mustangs won 3-1  on Saturday. Overall, Hollands is 3-1-0-0 with a .915 save percentage for the division-leading Mustangs. 

 

Rookie*: David Utkin, Utah Outliers

The ‘05 from Russia continues to impress, as he scored the overtime game-winner on Friday in a 3-2 win against the Idaho Falls Spud Kings, and then added two more the next night in an eventual shootout defeat of the Provo Predators. Utkin’s third period goal tied it to force the eventual overtime and shootout against a Provo team that had been fully undefeated prior to Saturday.
