NCDC Roundup: Dec. 3, 2023

P.A.L. Jr. Islanders 5, Jersey Hitmen 2

The Jr. Islanders tied for second all-time in longest winning streaks with their 16th straight victory. P.A.L. hasn’t lost since Oct. 7, their final game at the Jersey Hitmen Classic in Wayne, N.J., the very same place they tied for second on Sunday. The Islanders Hockey Club won 16 in a row twice in 2017-18 and the Hitmen themselves hold the record of 19 straight wins in 2018-19. Five different P.A.L. goal-scorers helped the cause. Dustin Patterson had a 1-1-2 line and Ryan Kearney made two assists. Nicholas Bevilacqua was his usual outstanding self by posting 42 saves on 44 shots for his 15th straight victory.

Connecticut Jr. Rangers 2, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 0

Primo Baldassare had his second shutout in as many days, stopping all 36 shots he faced. Mason Moore and Carl Johan Salle registered the goals in the second period.

Islanders Hockey Club 3, Utica Jr. Comets 2

The Islanders earned a three-game sweep of visiting Utica to take a four-point lead in the New England Division lead. They came back from being down 2-0 after two periods to score three unanswered goals for the win. Tikhon Ashikhmin scored two goals, including the tying goal, and Max Tsegelnik registered the GWG and also had one assist. Frank Murphy stopped 25 of 27 shots for the win.

Boston Junior Bruins 4, South Shore Kings 2

Jake Terra scored a hat trick to help the Junior Bruins get past the Kings, after falling behind 2-1 in the second period. Coleman Jenkins and Shane Baker also had three assists in the game, and Garrett Simpson stopped 33 of 35 shots for the win.

Note: The NCDC This Week in-depth weekly roundup will be published on Wednesday, rather than its usual Tuesday release, for this week.
